Five ways to review your notes

Effective review ideas that turn what you write today into knowledge you remember.

Cover and recall

Cover the meaning column and work down the page from the Arabic. Then reverse it. Recall is a different skill from recognition, and only one of them helps you speak.

Rewrite, do not reread

Copying a word once is worth more than reading it five times. The hand remembers what the eye skims.

Read your own handwriting aloud

If you cannot read it back, the spacing needs work. Your notebook is honest feedback.

Summarise the week

End each week with one page summarising the last five. It forces you to choose what mattered.

Return after a month

Come back to an old page with fresh eyes. What you have absorbed will be obvious, and so will the gaps.
