Questions, clearly answered.
Everything you need to know about the Arabic Notebook Thick Lined Hardcover — designed for focus, clarity and steady progress.
Why does each page have 16 large lines?
Sixteen large writing lines give every Arabic letter, word and joining stroke the space it needs to be clear and accurate. It reduces crowding, supports better proportions and keeps your writing neat from start to finish.
Are both notebook covers the same green?
Yes. Hardcover and softback use the same signature green, so a set looks consistent on a shelf or in a bag.
Is the notebook suitable for calligraphy?
It is built for everyday writing and study rather than formal calligraphy. Broad-edged qalam nibs and heavy ink washes can feather on 80gsm paper. For everyday practice with ballpoint, gel or fineliner it performs very well.
What paper size and weight is used?
Every notebook is A4 — 210 x 297mm — with 200 pages of smooth 80gsm paper.
What is the difference between hardcover and softback?
The paper and the 16-line page are identical. The hardcover is rigid and section-sewn, so it lies flat and gives you a firm writing surface anywhere. The softback is lighter and slimmer, which makes it easier to carry several at once.
Where do you deliver?
We ship from the United Kingdom and deliver worldwide. Available services and costs are shown at checkout once you enter your address.
How can I track my order?
You will receive a dispatch email with a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves us. If you have an account, tracking also appears in your order history.
What is your returns process?
Return any unused notebook within 30 days for a full refund. Contact us with your order number and we will send return instructions.
How much taller is a line than in a normal notebook?
Standard feint ruling is about 7mm. Our lines are noticeably taller, which is what gives descenders, dots and vowel marks somewhere to sit without colliding with the line above or below.
Is the 16-line format suitable for beginners?
Yes — it is especially good for beginners. Larger lines make it far easier to control letter shapes and see the difference between similar forms while you are still building muscle memory.
Can I use it for languages other than Arabic?
Absolutely. The wide ruling suits Urdu, Farsi and Hebrew well, and works nicely for English handwriting practice, journalling and note-taking too.
Are the pages ruled right to left?
The lines run edge to edge, so the book works naturally for right-to-left writing. There is no pre-printed margin forcing a direction.
Does the notebook lie flat when open?
The hardcover opens flat at any page thanks to its sewn binding. The softback opens comfortably but will hold a slight curve near the spine.
Will ink show through to the next page?
With ballpoint, gel and fineliner pens there is minimal show-through. Very wet fountain pens or markers may ghost slightly, as they would on most 80gsm paper.
Can I write on both sides of the page?
Yes. All 200 pages are ruled on both sides.
How should I care for my notebook?
Keep it dry and out of direct sunlight, which can fade the cover over time. Store it upright or flat rather than wedged at an angle so the spine keeps its shape.
Is the paper recycled or acid-free?
Our paper is acid-free, so your notes will not yellow or become brittle with age. Contact us if you need detail on sourcing for a procurement form.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Get in touch as quickly as you can. If the order has not yet been packed we can usually amend or cancel it. Once it has been dispatched you can return it under our normal returns policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Shop Pay at checkout.
Do you offer bulk or school pricing?
Yes. We supply schools, madrasas and language programmes at volume pricing with consolidated delivery. Contact us with the quantity you need and we will put a quote together.
Can I get an invoice or VAT receipt?
Your order confirmation doubles as a receipt. If you need a formal invoice for a school or business, contact us with your order number and billing details.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Get in touch before you order and we will let you know what gift options are available for your delivery date.
How long does delivery take?
UK orders typically arrive within 2-4 working days. International timings vary by destination and are shown at checkout.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is calculated at checkout based on your address and chosen service. Any free delivery threshold currently running is shown in the bar at the top of the site.
Will I pay customs or import duty?
Orders outside the UK may attract local import duty or tax, which is set by your country and paid by the recipient. We cannot calculate or cover these in advance.
What if my parcel arrives damaged?
Send us a photo of the damage along with your order number and we will replace the notebook free of charge. There is no need to return the damaged one first.
My tracking has not updated — what should I do?
Tracking can pause for a day or two, especially on international routes. If there has been no movement for five working days, contact us with your order number and we will chase it.
How long do refunds take?
Refunds are issued once the return arrives back with us, and usually appear on your statement within 3-5 working days depending on your bank.
Can I exchange a softback for a hardcover?
Yes. Return the unused notebook within 30 days and let us know which format you would prefer, and we will send the replacement out.
What if I received the wrong item?
Let us know straight away with your order number and a photo of what arrived. We will send the correct notebook and cover the cost of returning the wrong one.
Can I return a notebook I have written in?
We can only refund unused notebooks, but if there is a fault with the paper, printing or binding we will always put it right regardless of use.
Who pays for return postage?
If you are returning because you changed your mind, return postage is yours. If the notebook is faulty, damaged or wrong, we cover it.
